Hodeidah set for giant port expansion

Doha: The Port of Hodeidah will see the largest expansion in its history costing around $703m. The port, which is run by the Red Sea Ports Corporation, handles around 70% of Yemen’s imports and yet has seen no development for the past 25 years.
The expansion project includes deepening of the navigation channel to 21 m and setting up a 200,000 sq m container yard.  [09/09/13]
