Huawei cooperates with Cosco Piraeus port facility

Beijing: Chinese technology and communication solution provider, Huaiwei, launched a pilot distribution centre at Greece’s Piraeus port on Thursday, which will help the company to expand overseas markets, and also help Cosco to further improve cargo volumes and income.

The port distribution centre will be a new logistics hub for Huawei to connect its Shenzhen headquarters and European supply centres to transfer its products fast to Europe, according to the agreement signed by Huawei and Cosco's local subsidiary Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT).

With over 4m tue handling capacity per year, PCT has become an important partner for Huawei, as well as for other multinational firms, Fu Chengqiu, ceo of PCT said. Cosco increased its investment in Piraeus Port a month ago, to expand its handling capacity to 6.2 m teu per year in the coming years. [13/12/13]
