Hudong Zhonghua ex-boss on trial

Shanghai: The trial of Gu Tiquan, the ex-chairman of China’s leading shipbuilding company, Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard, started today.

Gu is accused of taking bribes of RMB5.74m. 

Gu was suspected of serious violations and was taken by authorities in May this year.

Shu Fanghao, the ex-assistant of general manager of Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Shipyard also stood trial today. Shu is accused of RMB2.39m bribes. 

Both shipyards are part of state-run CSSC which is set for another round of anti-graft examinations this month. [01/12/14]
