Hudong-Zhonghua upping its LNG output
Beijing: Shanghai’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding is preparing to double its output of LNG ships in the coming four years. The aim is to build seven to eight LNG ships by 2018, a company spokesperson told a conference in Beijing. Currently it can build two to three a year.
Hudong-Zhonghua has 14 LNG carriers on its orderbook, giving it a 10% global market share.
While the largest LNG ships it is constructing at the moment are 174,000 cu m in size, it has plans to build up to 220,000 cu m. [15/09/14]
