Humen port starts construction of a new bulk terminal

Guangzhou: Humen port has started the construction of a new bulk terminal yesterday. The terminal, which has a designed annual handling capacity of 5m tonnes, is invested by Dongguan Haichang Shipping with RMB1.16bn.

The project is the third terminal project that Haichang Shipping has invested in Humen port, including two 50,000 tonne berths.

“The terminal will be the supplement to the bulk terminals in Guangzhou port and Shenzhen port in the Pearl River Delta region and further complete the logistics system of Humen port,” said an official from Dongguan Haichang Shipping.

In the meantime, Humen Port Group is selling all of its 15% equity in Tongzhou Petrochemical Terminal on the Shenzhen United Assets and Equity Exchange for RMB32.6m. The terminal is 51% controlled by CNPC and 34% controlled by Dongguan Tongzhou Petrochemical. [18/04/13]
