Humpuss earmarks $600m for fleet expansion

Jakarta: Indonesian shipping line Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi is looking to raise $500m in bank loans to fund 80% of its 2014 planned expansion. Humpuss is looking to focus more on domestic LNG and chemical shipping.

The shipping line, listed in Jakarta, is owned by Hutomo “Tommy” Mandala Putra, the youngest son of former president Suharto.

Having cleared important debts late last year, Humpuss has outlined plans to order 19 ships this year, predominantly tankers.  [17/02/14]
