Hunan Ocean Container Lines orders feeder boxship pair

Chinese state-run feeder boxship operator Hunan Ocean Container Lines has placed an order at Hunan Jinhang Shipbuilding for the construction of two 635 teu boxships.

The two ships, which will be equipped with LNG/diesel dual fuel engine, will be deployed for river container transport between Hunan and Shanghai.

Hunan Ocean Container Lines currently operates a feeder boxship fleet of 12 vessels with capacity ranging from 124 teu to 526 teu. The new ships will be the largest ships in the company’s fleet.
