Hunan Ocean Container Lines seeks boxship pair

Chinese state-owned boxship operator Hunan Ocean Container Lines has announced a plan to acquire two secondhand river containerships.

According to the company’s tender notice, it is looking to acquire two ships built after December 2014 and the capacity of each ship should be around 500 teu.

The potential sellers are required to submit tenders before a deadline of April 20.

Hunan Ocean Container Lines mainly operates river container shipping business, with services connecting destinations along the Yangtze River and Shanghai. The company’s fleet currently stands at 12 containerships.
