Hutchison to double handling capacity at Karachi
Hutchison Ports Pakistan has started second phase construction at Karachi to more than double the terminal’s annual box handling capacity. Hutchison Ports was the first global terminal operator to enter Pakistan, and its Karachi facility has the deepest depths alongside in the country.
Phase two – due to be complete by the end of next year – will see the terminal’s annual handling capacity jump from the current 1.5m teu a year to 3.4m teu.
