Iino Kaiun orders VLGC for Equinor charter

Japanese owner Iino Kaiun Kaisha has placed an order at compatriot yard Kawasaki Heavy Industries for the construction of up to two 84,000 cu m LPG carriers.

According to an Allied Shipbroking report, the newbuild contract includes a firm order for one vessel and an option for another one. The firm vessel has been awarded a time charter contract by Equinor and delivery is scheduled in 2022.

VesselsValue data shows Iino Kaiun currently owns a fleet of 47 vessels made up of 22 tankers, 21 LPG carriers and four bulkers, with two VLCCs on order.
