India allocates $100m to help develop Chabahar port
Dubai: India has allocated $100m to help develop the port of Chabahar in Iran, to improve trade with Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries, Afghan envoy to India Shaida Mohammad Abdali said.
"Ultimately the port connects the Central Asia with south Asia, and we have in-principle agreed," Abdali said.
"The draft has been circulated, and India has already pledged $100m for upgrading the port," he added.
Iran's Chabahar Port is located 72 km west of Pakistan's Gwadar port. [01/09/14]
