Iranian boxship runs aground on Hong Kong island

The Iranian-flagged 5,000 teu containership  Touska ran aground at the eastern corner of Magazine Island, an islet near Ap Lei Chau in Hong Kong on Sunday night.

The incident occurred while the 2008-built vessel was en route from Kaohsiung to Shenzhen.

Local marine police and fire services department later confirmed that there was no fire onboard the vessel or oil leak after the collision and none of the 28 crew were injured.

An investigation into the cause of incident is underway.
