Iranian navy foils piracy attack

Dubai: The Iranian navy has foiled a piracy attack aimed at an Iranian tanker on Wednesday. A total of 12 boats approached an Inranian tanker yesterday while it was transiting the Indian nation. The navy dispatched two ships, a submarine and a helicopter to ward off the attack.

Iranian tankers have been targeted by pirates in the region on a number of occasions in the past couple of years. [09/01/13]
