Iranian president vows to boost shipbuilding
Dubai: The Iranian president has outlined plans to develop the country’s southern littoral states.
“One of the objectives of the administration … will be to make the southern coasts and islands in the Persian Gulf region and the Sea of Oman flourish,” President Hassan Rouhani announced yesterday on a trip to the south of the country.
He said Iran’s southern coastline, which stretches about 2,000 km, must develop specific industries such as steelmaking and shipbuilding. [26/02/14]
