Jakarta wants Exxon’s local boss out

Jakarta: In a further sign of Jakarta’s keenness to take a stronger hold over its energy future the government has demanded ExxonMobil Indonesia change its president, Richard J. Owen, on account of what is seen as poor exploration results to date.

Indonesian law states that the government has the right to conduct a series of fit-and-proper tests of candidates for the executives of the country’s oil and gas contractors, which are mainly foreign firms.  [04/01/13]
