Japan Drilling Co awarded Indonesian jackup contract

Japan Drilling Co. (JDC) subsidiary P.T. Japan Drilling Indonesia has entered into a drilling contract with Premier Oil Natuna Sea for 2013-built jackup rig Hakuryu-11.

The contract is for four firm wells and will commence in either March or April 2019. The rig will be operating off Natuna, Indonesia for around 173 days.

Founded in 1968, JDC currently operates six jackups, one semi-submersible and one drillship.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
