Japan Drilling Company awarded semi-submersible contract in Indonesia

Japan Drilling Company subsidiary PT. Japan Drilling Indonesia, together with a shipping company in Indonesia, have entered into a drilling contract with Medco E&P Natuna for the provision of 1977-built semi-submersible drilling rig Hakuryu-5.

The rig, which was last upgraded in 2009, will be operating offshore Natuna, Indoensia from July/August 2019.

The contract is for two firm wells estimated at 123 days), with a two-well option available estimated at around 98 days.
