Japanese handy trio sold

After half a decade of reported rest in the sales and purchase market two ships in Japan’s Escobal fleet have been sold. The two Kanda-built ships are heading for an unidentified Italian owner, broker sources tell Splash. The 32,300 dwt bulkers built five and six years ago fetched $6.5m and $5.9m each.

Meanwhile, the smaller 28,500 dwt, seven-year-old Infinity River, controlled by Japan’s Kawana Kaiun, has been sold to an unidentified owner in Europe for $5.1m.
