Jasa Merin buys AHTS pair

Kuala Lumpur: Jasa Merin, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s SILK Holdings, is spending RM240.6m on two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

The two second-hand AHTS are 70m 120-tonne bollard pull vessels with an engine rating of 10,800 brake horsepower.

"The additions to the fleet bring the total number of owned vessels in the fleet to 18 vessels. The vessels are ready-built and are immediately able to contribute to earnings," said SILK Holdings executive chairman Datuk Mohd Azlan Hashim.

"In addition, both vessels fit the operational requirements of Jasa Merin and are about one-year-old. All in all, it represents good value to the group," he added.  [28/09/12]
