Doha: An official at the Jeddah Islamic Port has said the backlog of containers at the port is down to a systems crash and a shortage of labour, contrary to earlier pronouncements by the port’s director who blamed the backlog on importers failing to fill documents properly.
The port axed a number of subcontractors earlier this year and its service reliability has struggled ever since. [09/05/13]
