Shanghai: Jiangsu Eastern Shipbuilding (JES) have signed shipbuilding contracts with newly established shipowner Ample Oceans for the construction of 12 ultramax bulkers, with options for a further 24.
The vessels are designed by SDARI and are scheduled for delivery from the fourth quarter of 2015 to 2017. The price for each vessel is $27.8m.
JES recently signed an 18 bulker deal with Greek owner Empire Bulkers, with a total contract value exceeding $1bn. [12/05/14]
