Jiangsu Ocean Shipping books ultramax quartet at NACKS and DACKS

Chinese state-run shipping firm Jiangsu Ocean Shipping (Josco) has placed an order at Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS) and Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (DACKS) for the construction of four 61,000 dwt ultramax bulk carriers.

NACKS and DACKS will each build two of the vessels.

Delivery of the vessels are expected to start from 2020.

Josco said the order is part of the company’s efforts to further optimise its fleet. It currently operates a fleet of 23 bulk carriers, made up of 16 bulk carriers, six containerships, and one tanker.
