Jinhui offloads another supramax

Hong Kong- and Oslo-listed Jinhui Shipping has sold another ship. Fresh from offloading a supramax earlier this year, the company, which revealed yesterday it is discussing restructuring with creditors, has sold the Jin An for $3.5m.

The 50,000 dwt Oshima-built vessel came close to being sold on two separate occasions earlier this year before finally being sold in the last couple of days to undisclosed buyers.

“We believe the current tough market cannot be sustainable in the long term, but the journey to recovery and equilibrium will be tough and not without casualties,” Jinhui revealed in a frank quarterly results report yesterday.
