Chinese dry bulk owner Jinhui Shipping and Transportation has terminated an agreement with Greek owner Chartworld Shipping to acquire 2002-built supramax Aifanourios.
.Jinhui agreed to acquire two supramaxes from Chartworld in April, but terminated the Aifanourios acquisition due to a delay in the delivery of the vessel.
The company had agreed to pay paying $5.75m for the 2001-built Aigeorgis and $6.25m for 2002-built Aifanourios. It has now been refunded the $625k deposit paid on the Aifanourios.
With the Aigeorgis now delivered, Jinhui owns nineteen vessels made up of two post-panamax bulkers and 17 supramaxes.
