Jinzhou coal terminal project suspended

Dalian: According to the information released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the professional coal terminal project developed by Jinzhou port and China Power Investment has been rejected.
The Jinzhou port coal terminal project was launched in 2009, with plans to build three 70,000 tons-class berths with 35m tons throughput annually.
Last year, Jinzhou port completed 19.58m tons coal throughput, an increase of 27% year-on-year.
Beijing is cracking down on big infrastructure projects that do not meet more strict green guidelines in response to the population’s increasing anger at the poor state of the environment.  [29/01/14]
