This position may be based in various locations in the USA
Our client seeks an experienced maritime sales / business development professional to grow their operations in the USA. The preferred candidate will have a sales or operations background in the ship agency sector, active network of owner/operator contacts, and entrepreneurial drive to approach key decision makers.
Position Overview:
- Establish, implement, and direct sales/ business development initiatives
- Develop sales and marketing plans to grow all business units, primarily agency services
- Compile target customer lists, create action plans to procure new business
- Conduct outside sales calls, this is a top priority for this role
- Ensure prompt follow up and satisfactory customer service for all business accounts
- Deliver compelling business presentations, negotiate sales contracts, execute business deals
- Opportunistic mindset to identify and capitalize on market opportunities
- Secure sustainable business to increase market share
Background Profile:
- 5+ year’s in a similar role with a Ship Agency
- Must have active contacts with commercial owner/operators in the USA, contacts and ties to the tanker /bulker market strongly preferred
- Self-motivated, outgoing, capable of producing results with limited supervision/guidance
- Flexible, team-player
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- US Citizen or Green Card, no VISA sponsorships at this time
