Faststream are currently working with an international client engaged in the worldwide transportation of chemicals products through the operation of a modern tanker fleet. There excellent technical performance of vessels, as well as a close relationship from a commercial and operational perspective allow them to lead the way within the market and therefore create this excellent opportunity for the right individual.
In this position you will manage all technical matters, as well as operational expenses, for their tanker fleet. You are responsible for organising technical-related issues including vetting inspections. You communicate with the Operations Department on day-to-day matters related to voyage operations. and will coordinate/ supervise all planned and unplanned repairs, inspections and dry dockings in an international setting. As Superintendent you are responsible for the class status of the vessel and for arranging surveys and audits, including reporting. You work in a team consisting of Superintendents, Crewing Officers and Purchasers. In this position you report to the Manager Ship Management.
Relevant experience as First or Second Engineer on tanker vessels and/or in ship repair/ship management is necessary. Chemical experience would be a huge advantage as well. In addition, you should possess strong problem-solving skills and be willing to travel frequently and work well under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.
