Crane Mechanic
Description
The Crane Mechanic performs all maintenance checks and fixes any and all mechanical problems that arise. The Crane Mechanic must be able to develop and maintain maintenance schedules and keep excellent repair records.
This position reports to the Yard Foreman and the Facility Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Uphold Company's commitment to safety.
- Maintain and repair cranes and other equipment as needed.
- Determine overall condition of machines through inspections.
- Diagnose issues with hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Restore equipment to working order.
- Exhibit positive and effective interaction with other Company associates, vendors, and customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and other work performed.
- Physical effort and dexterity is required, lifting up to 75 pounds, including service-related tools.
- Be familiar with the compliance requirements for OSHA, ANSI, and all local, state, and federal
regulation.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Technical or associate degree in electrical engineering, electronics, diesel mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics, preferred.
At least 5-7 years of mechanic or oiler experience
Valid driver’s license and/or passport
TWIC or be able to obtain upon hire.
Preferred Certifications/ Skills:
Current or able to obtain a national certified Crane Operator license. NCCIC A/D Director Certification

- Forklift Operator Certification
- Shipyard Competent Person Training
- Fall Protection Awareness
- Confined Space Training
- OSHA 10 Hour (US employees)
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER
- 8 Hour HAZWOPER
- First, Aid CPR, AED
- Forklift Operator License
- Engineering Degree
- Inventory, asset tracking experience
- Experience with Maintenance Connection system and/ or DH4 system
