I am working with a client in Scotland who seek a Naval Architect or Structural Engineer to manage risk, budget and scope for the structural integrity of FPSOs.

Working on hull, moorings and topsides, alongside a close knit team of engineers, you will ensure the management strategy is implemented to identify and assess risk. Main accountabilities are to:

*Deliver on safety and production aspects to the North Sea asset base
*Own and manage all asset structural / naval architecture integrity matters
*Participate in incident investigations
*Carry out regular offshore visits with a focus on structural integrity; review inspections and defects
*Know and apply engineering codes, standards, practices and design guidance
*Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry good practice
*Ensure inspection workbooks are correct and appropriate prior to approval
*Deliver annual structural integrity summaries
You will need to be Chartered and have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, or Structural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, with a broad background in classification and certification for FPSOs. Other key requirements are:
*Understanding of Asset and Operational integrity in the oil and gas industry
*Strong networking and communication skills
*Excellent written and presentation skills
*Background in a client/operator environment and knowledge of the safety, environmental and operational aspects of your work
*Experience of engineering contractor processes, procedures, estimating methods and delivery processes
*Knowledge and experience of project implementation methodology and decision making processes
*Experience of dealing with ship and semi-sub mooring systems, and repairs due to fatigue within hulls
*Ability to understand and express risk in support of decision making
*Can effectively plan own workload, evaluating the full implications of actions on profitability, costs and values
*It is also desirable to have prior experience in Maximo, RBI software and COABIS
