This position reports to the Head of OperationsThe appointed candidate will manage Well Delivery (integrity, planning and operational delivery) of well interventions and rig based drilling, completion and workover well operations across Malaysia.
Being a Safety Leader and ensuring that the Malaysia Health, Safety and Environmental standards are attained and that all well designs, equipment and procedures and operating methods (including well design and construction activities) are in compliance with all Regulatory Authority and standards and procedures
Provide all Drilling, Workover and Well Interventions related input for asset strategy, corporate budget, and the work plan and budget.
Delivery of Drilling/Completion/Testing/Abandonment/Workover/Interventions activities in line with approved budget, and with the aim of being top quartile within peer group.
Active management of all contractors and sub-contractors associated with the Wells Delivery programmes.
Leading, motivating, developing and performance managing the Malaysia Wells Delivery Team to raise capability and to deliver excellence in well design, well planning, operational performance and programme delivery.
Defining and overseeing all Malaysia Well Engineering activities for all drilling, side-track, work-overs and interventions. Ensuring that the operations plan optimises performance, minimises non-productive time and maximises the cost-effectiveness of the operation.
Working collaboratively with Subsurface and Asset to optimise the prospects, value and to ensure overall schedules and timelines are met to both define and deliver the budget commitment.
Ensuring the correct application of drilling technologies to enable Malaysia to execute its drilling plan to deliver its production and field development plan.
Setting the standards and driving a continuous improvement culture in the team, implementing Plan-Do-Measure-Learn cycle, benchmarking and measuring performance and delivering upper quartile wells delivery performance, consistently achieving committed Budget and AFE’s.
Working closely with Contracts, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure the effective procurement of the drilling rig and services in accordance with Malaysian and PSC rules (minimising non-cost recovery) and effective management of the drilling supply chain (contractors, partners, logistics, services).
Managing cost performance and delivering upper quartile cost & operational performance in Well Delivery operations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Full appreciation of all technical and legislative requirements for drilling/workover operations, along with full drilling life cycle/campaign experience – well design, planning, operations, workover and completions.
Oil and Gas Operator or well management contractor experience including offshore, field development and producing assets, particularly pertaining to platform, tender assist and jack-up drilling operations.
Horizontal and ERD wells, depleted reservoir with managed pressure drilling experience, where tight drilling windows and ECD management is key.
Drilling/Wells Engineering leadership experience, including within South East Asia environment.
Excellent employee alignment and engagement skills, along with people development, performance management focus, and strong bias on execution and delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and a track record of effectively managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Experienced with PSC environment Supply chain regulations, cost recovery mechanism’s and associated risks.
An understanding of value, demonstrating a track record of delivering top quartile outcomes both operationally and commercially.
Masters/Honours Degree in Engineering or its equivalent.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in appropriate Drilling Operations roles, including Offshore Drilling Engineer/Night Drilling Supervisor, Offshore Drilling Supervisor, Senior Drilling Engineer/Rig Superintendent or equivalent.
Computer literate with competence of project control systems, Well Engineering software e.g. Landmark, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Qualified Malaysians are encouraged to apply.
Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
