Operations Manager - Dry Bulk - Houston, TX

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing ship operator in their dry cargo commercial operations group. We're looking for dry cargo operators with at least 3 years of experience and a desire to advance their career with a dynamic team.

Key requirements:

  • 3+ years of dry cargo operations experience with an owner / operator
  • Strong knowledge of Charter Parties terms and conditions
  • Prepare voyage orders, sailing instructions and other items to ensure efficient operations
  • Co-ordinate with all concerned parties including owners, cargo interests, agents, and other
  • Maintain IMOS system regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Work with charterers to coordinate voyage operations and communications
  • Monitor financial performance of voyages and act to improve same
  • Familiarity with IMOS is preferred
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Ability to support operations during and outside of normal office hours

Ideal candidate's profile:

  • College degree required, Maritime Academy degree preferred
  • Outstanding communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Familiar and comfortable with the IMOS software platform
  • 3+ years of dry cargo ship operating experience required
  • Ability to work as an individual within a team environment
  • Must have the legal right to work in the USA
