POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary)
This position is primarily responsible for solving technical problems to ensure vessel electric propulsion drive systems are maintained in operational order and are in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Electric Propulsion Port Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance of all the vessels electrical equipment and machinery. The position will work closely with vessel Port Engineers to ensure that the electrical equipment onboard the vessels are at all times in good working order. The Electric Propulsion Port Engineer is responsible for the electrical sections of the repair and maintenance budgets together with the necessary capital expenditures for the respective vessels.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Provides electronic and electrical support to the Marine Department , by planning and communicating technical solutions via telephone, e -mail , and on the vessels.
Performs in conjunction with vessel Port Engineers
Maintains and repairs vessel electric drive, power generation and automations systems. Assist vessel engineers with resolving electrical maintenance and repair issues. Develop requisitions required for spare parts and materials.
Bachelor’s degree required (electronics, engineering or related field). Ten years’ experience in power generation, vessels automation and electric propulsion drive Electric Propulsion Port Engineer
