A world renowned shipping conglomerate is currently hiring for experienced Purchasers in Singapore as they expands their business within Asia Pacific.
You will be responsible for requesting quotations from vendors and suppliers for required items and/or services. Upon approval of quotation, you will follow through the process to ensure that the items and/or services are being delivered at the required destination. You will check the invoices received from the vendors and suppliers to make sure that they tally with the items and services received, before submitting to the accounts team for further actions. Other relevant purchasing and admin duties as required.
Only applicants with relevant purchasing experience working within the maritime industry will be considered. You should come with a good network of product and service providers within the maritime industry. Resourceful and being well organised. Previous experience supporting purchasing for ship repairs, dry docking or ship annual surveys will be an advantage. Confident in negotiating for best prices, particularly for bulk purchases.
