Our Client, a leader in the transportation of oil and refined products, is looking for a Safety Manager with the following experience:

  • Bachelors Degree and a professional safety background required
  • At least 7 years of Inland Towing experience, with at least 3 of those years in a shoreside leadership role (Port Captain, HSE Manager, Compliance Manager, etc)
  • Experience with OSHA/AWO data collections to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • A proven leader of safety efforts and initiatives
  • Strong leadership, communication, and computer software skills
  • Ability to adapt into an ever-changing and competitive market

Job duties will include:

  • Evaluating the company's procedures, facilities, personnel and equipment to ensure unsafe conditions are identified and improved upon
  • Responsibility of maintaining safety and accident records as well as publishing vessel safety bulletins, drills and exercises
  • Visit company vessels and Captains to assist with safety goals as well as maintain strong communication with the vessel crews
  • Report to Corporate Safety Manager on safety statistics, opportunities for improvement, and crew feedback
  • Create safety program presentations and present them to vessel crew as well as senior managers to ensure the safety culture message is delivered
