Safety Position - shore transition role


Location: Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL


Required Qualifications:

Education: Maritime Academy graduate with bachelor’s degree in marine field or

acceptable technical and educational experience.



Three years of experience in maritime industry required, with practical experience in safety management activities preferred.

Languages: English



A demonstrated ability to conduct incident reviews and accident investigations in accordance with Company procedures

Strong working knowledge of applicable Code of Federal Regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, ISPS Code, MTSA, OPA ’90 and other associated regulatory compliance requirements

Good documentation, writing and verbal communication skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Traits: Ability to travel as necessary for projects, ability to work well with others, self-starter, proactive, flexible with work schedule, well organized. Possess or has the ability to obtain a Transportation Work Identification Card (TWIC), team-player, strong communication skills, self-motivator, able to travel as necessary


Preferred Qualifications:

•Marine incident investigation and root cause analysis training, with practical experience in performing incident investigations.

•ISM Lead Auditor training

•Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.

•Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

•Technical Skills - Shares expertise with others.
