Jonsung Offshore orders six liftboats at Xiamen Shipbuilding

Hong Kong-registered Jonsung Offshore International has signed shipbuilding contracts with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) for the construction of six liftboats.

The design for the liftboat will be jointly developed by XSI, Tianjin Desail Offshore & Marine, and DNVGL.

XSI has been diversifying its offshore product portfolio, and received its first ever wind turbine installation vessel order in August.

XSI has also signed an agreement with China Exim Bank, under which China Exim Bank will provide a RMB5bn ($785.5m) credit facility for the yard.
