JR seals $37m winning bid for four ice-class feeders

Dutch outfit JR Shipping succeeded at auction, winning a bid to buy four ice-class feeder boxships.

JR Shipping is paying $37m en bloc for the four 1,436 teu sister ships previously controlled by compatriot Navigia Group in a bank driven sale. The 2011-built Chinese boxships are the Altsterdijk, Aalderdijk, Akerdijk and Amerdijk.

Founded in 1993, JR’s fleet today includes 15 boxships, two MPPs, six OSVs, a survey vessel and a tall ship.
