KC Maritime offloads its two oldest bulkers

Half a decade since Hong Kong’s KC Maritime last reported vessel sale the conservative bulker outfit is proceeding to offload its two oldest ships.

KC Maritime officials declined to confirm any deal when contacted by Splash. However, sources say the Chelleram family controlled company has found takers for two 73,000 dwt sized bulkers, the Darya Tara, built at the start of the millennium, and the one year younger Darya Shanti. If sold KC Maritime will be left with around 10 ships in the water, most less than five years of age. The ships are expected to fetch around $3m each. The identity of the buyers has yet to be revealed.
