Keppel confirms talk with Borr Drilling to sell six jackups

Sinagpore’s Keppel Corporation has confirmed that it is in negotiations with Borr Drilling about a possible sale of six jackup rigs currently under construction at Keppel FELS.

Keppel said the details and terms of any agreement relating the sale have not yet been finalised and are still subject to the ongoing negotiations. The deal is said to be worth around $960m.

Fast growing Norwegian offshore driller Borr Drilling has acquired a number of resale rigs in the past year, having taken over nine jackup rigs from Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine in October for $1.3bn.
