Keppel scores additional dredger order from Jan De Nul

Keppel Offshore & Marine subsidiary Keppel Singmarine has sealed contracts from Codralux, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jan De Nul Group, for one plus one trailing suction hopper dredgers.

The order is in addition to three dredgers ordered by Jan De Nul in July 2016, with the new vessels ordered valued at around S$120m ($86.5m).

The first dredger ordered is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2019, while the second is part of an option Jan De Nul can exercise within six months.

“We are pleased to build two more high performance dredgers of higher specification for Jan De Nul, making it a total of five dredgers,” commented Abu Bakar, managing director of Keppel Singmarine.
