Dubai: Gulftainer’s Khorfakkan Container Terminal has received $60m worth of new cranes.
The four ship-to-shore cranes and 12 rubber-tire gantry cranes will help the terminal serve larger boxships.
“The new STS cranes are not only larger, with a greater outreach to better cope with the giant 18,000-teu and above vessels, they also provide greater flexibility in their operations,” said Steve Ogden, operations director of Gulftainer, in a statement. “This will help speed up the terminal operations.” [20/11/14]
