Klaveness awarded bulk sulphur deal

Norwegian owner Torvald Klaveness has secured a 17 shipment contract of affreightment (CoA) to ship bulk sulphur from the Middle East to the Mediterranean.

The CoA, with an unnamed client, will see Klaveness transport 1m metric ton of sulphur in the supramax stem sizes over a period of 8 months until early 2018.

“This CoA complements our existing trades, and enable improved service towards our clients in both the Middle East and the Mediterranean.  Backhaul-fronthaul cross-trades is an integrated part of our trading portfolio and this CoA enhances our flexibility to reposition pool vessels to the Atlantic. Effectively this strengthens our pools even further,” Klaveness said in a release.
