Klaveness sets up in Dubai

Norwegian owner Torvald Klaveness has expanded its presence in the Middle East by setting up an office in Dubai.

The Dubai office is a branch office of Klaveness Asia and will be focused on dry bulk, and Klaveness believes its digital solutions and combination carriers businesses will benefit from its presence in the region.

“A presence in the region with a full-fledged office has been on the cards for a while and the growth in our activity in the recent years on the dry bulk side has made this decision more crucial. We are looking forward to the success of this office, which supplements our current commercial presence in Singapore and Shanghai,” Klaveness said in a release.

Klaveness owns a fleet of nine combination carriers and eight containerships, and operates dry bulk carriers through Klaveness Chartering.
