KNOT orders shuttle tanker quartet at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry

Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT) has signed shipbuilding contracts with Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry for the construction of up to four 154,000 dwt shuttle tankers.

The order consists of two firm orders and options for another two vessels. The firm vessels are scheduled for delivery in the middle of 2021.

At the end of September, KNOT also ordered two shuttle tankers at Hyundai Heavy Industries with deliveries scheduled in 2020.

KNOT is a joint venture between Norway’s Knutsen OAS Shipping and Japan’s NYK. The company currently operates a fleet of 33 shuttle tankers.
