Knutsen, JP Morgan and Korea Line order dual-fuel LNG carriers for Shell charters

International energy giant Shell has selected three owners for the long-term charter of a total of eight dual-fuel 174,000 cu m LNG carriers.

According to the latest Allied Shipbroking report, Knutsen OAS Shipping has ordered four LNG carriers at Hyundai Heavy Industries while JP Morgan Global Maritime and Korea Line have each ordered two vessels at the same yard. The price for each vessel is $187.5m.

All the vessels will be chartered to Shell for seven years upon delivery in 2022.

The order also marks JP Morgan Global Maritime’s entry into the LNG carrier market.
