Korea Line confirms VLCC order at DSME

Korea Line has officially placed an order at compatriot shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) for the contruction of two 300,000 dwt VLCCs.

The two vessels will be used to transport oil for domestic oil refining firm S-Oil Coporation under a five-year COA contract.

The total value of the shipbuilding contract is KRW187bn ($177.5m) and delivery is scheduled in 2019.

In March, Korea Line ordered two VLCCs at Hyundai Heavy Industries as part of a COA contract with GS Caltex.
