KrisEnergy secures Thai concession

Singapore: KrisEnergy, an independent upstream oil and gas company, has received approval to acquire a 30% working interest and operatorship of block G6/48 in the Gulf of Thailand, the first operatorship in the Gulf of Thailand.
 
Keith Cameron, ceo, commented: “This is an important addition to our portfolio and provides us with our first operated asset in a region where our team has a successful track record in exploration and in the development of oil fields. We will seek to continue to build our position in the Gulf of Thailand, preferably as operator.”
 
G6/48 covers 566 sq km over the Karawake Basin on the southern margin of the Pattani Basin and the northwest margin of the Malay Basin in water depths of up to 75 m. [08/05/14]
