Lach Huyen to develop new bulk terminal

Ho Chi Minh: Saigon Newport, Rent-A-Port, the ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge have inked an agreement to develop a new bulk terminal at Lach Huyen port in North Vietnam.

Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Rent-A-Port will support Saigon Newport in drawing up a business plan aimed at becoming a leader in the dry and liquid bulk markets. With this collaboration agreement the ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge for their part seek to attract direct bulk shipping connections from Vietnam to Flanders.

“Vietnam is a strategically important growth region, with a rapidly expanding market,” said Eddy Bruyninckx, ceo of Antwerp Port Authority. [05/12/13]
