Lamprell secures upgrade contract from Jacktel

Jacktel, a wholly owned subsidiary of Master Marine, has issued a letter of award for a turn-key contract to Lamprell Energy for the procurement, construction and installation of extended legs and new suction caissons on the jack-up accommodation unit Haven.

Statoil signed a deal in November 2015 to utilise Haven at the Johan Sverdrup field, although Jacktel says the upgrade is going to cost $17m more than originally planned and that it has revised its contract with Statoil accordingly. The additional cost will be distributed evenly over the firm contract period of 548 days.

Both parties have also agreed additional rights for Statoil to extend the contract.

Jacktel is now working to complete the financing of the upgrade.
