Land Offshore orders wind installation platform at Rainbow Offshore

Land Offshore, a new offshore engineering company based in Yancheng of Jiangsu, has placed an order at Nantong Rainbow Offshore for the construction of a self-elevating wind farm installation platform.

The platform will be used for installation works at fast growing domestic offshore wind farms. The contract details were not disclosed.

China is pushing forward with its plan for promoting offshore windpower with a target of wind power accounting for about 6% of the total generating capacity in the country by 2020.

The Rudong offshore wind farm in Jiangsu is China’s largest offshore wind firm so far. China is planning another wind farm with 800mw capacity off the coast of Yancheng.
